EPC's ![]() The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) was introduced by the Government to comply with an EU directive to improve the energy efficiency of buildings and reduce their environmental impact. All properties marketed for sale should have an EPC commisioned prior to marketing and the EPC in place within 7 days. All rental properties must also have an EPC upon a change of tenant. The EPC includes a rating which will indicate the energy efficiency of the property. It will also give the potential rating which could be achieved by implementing improvements recommended in the EPC. Methodology To produce your EPC one of our accredited Domestic Energy Assessors will need to visit your property. During his visit he will gather information on the following: Build date of the property Wall construction type Floor area and room heights Heat loss walls Heating systems Hot water systems Insulation Glazing Floor construction Low energy lighting |
